What is sublimation?

Sublimation is a heat-transfer process that turns a printed design into a lasting part of a specially prepared surface.

At Pressure Made Prints, we use it to create colorful drinkware, keepsakes, ornaments, and other meaningful custom pieces. Each blank has to be made for sublimation, and results depend on its coating, color, shape, and care.

How it works

We print a design with sublimation ink, then use controlled heat and pressure to transfer the dye into a compatible polyester surface or polymer coating.

Why we love it

On the right blank, the design becomes part of the surface instead of sitting on top as a separate film. That gives the finished piece a smooth feel and detailed, lasting color.

Every method has its place

Sublimation works especially well on light-colored polyester and sublimation-coated products. DTG and DTF can suit other fabrics and colors, so the best method depends on the item and the result you want.
